The Hebrew book explains that the “error” on the Old Covenant was not due to concordance, but “to them” (Hebrews 8,8). In every sense of the word, a treaty. In the Bible (see also the Bible), an agreement between God and His people, in which God makes promises to His people and usually requires them to behave in a particular way. In the Old Testament, God made agreements with Noah, Abraham, and Moses. He promised Noah that he would never again destroy the Earth by a flood. He promised Abraham to become the ancestor of a great nation, provided that Abraham went to the place that God had shown him and sealed the covenant by circumcision of all the men of the nation. God told Moses that the Israelites would reach the Promised Land, but that they had to obey the Mosaic law. In the New Testament, God promised salvation to those who believe in Jesus (see also redemption). Weinfeld believes that similar terminologies and formulations can associate the Abrahamic and Davidian covenants with gifts of ancient origin, unlike the Mosaic covenant which, according to Weinfeld, is an example of a treaty of higher sovereignty. He goes on to argue that phrases about “whole heart” or “going with all my heart after me [God]” are strong with the neo-Assyrian language grant as “with royalty.” He also argues that God uses prophetic metaphors in Jeremiah to say that David will be adopted as a son. Expressing legal and political relationships by family phraseology was common in Middle Eastern cultures.
Babylonian treaties often expressed paternity and paternity in their gifts to signify a relationship between the king and the vassal. The Old Covenant was a solemn agreement between God and the Jewish Abraham Partiar (see Genesis 17:1–14). In this covenant, God promised to bless Abraham`s descendants and to be their God and protector when they entered the land of Canaan. In exchange, the Jews promised to be faithful to God and not to worship other gods. As a sign of agreement, all Jewish men should be circumcised. The alliance with Israel has not been broken. Isaiah #50 asked, “Where is the divorce deed?” God explained that they could not hinder His intentions because He is still their God and they are still His people.
